i tried to read this when it first came out, but I just couldn’t get through it. King’s new obsession with anti-Trumpism and Wokeism is off-putting. There needs to be a pleasant middle somewhere between this on one end and the underage gang bang stuff on the other end.

Caring about social justice and being against bigotry and racism is somehow a negative? You actually criticize someone for believing in the the constitution and America. We believe the truths to be self evident that all men are created equal. that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness “. I guess Tom Jefferson was “woke” too.

Avatarofshadow what in the world are you talking about when you bring up “underage gang bang” in relation to Stephen King?
Kings’s books are norotiously long — if you dislike some of his messaging or anything else, fast-forward through it.
Given King’s age, especially, I am awestruck and grateful that he continues to churn out compelling books … he’s better at his worst than a lot of writers at their best.

Thank you for sharing this, but it seems SK’s writing is going down the tubes. Ill stick with his good stuff, and give this a miss. If he is jumping on the woke train, he is likely going to see book sales take a nosedive, just like everything else that goes woke.
