I A Richards suppressed the metre accents when he used Hopkins texts as examples in Practical Criticism. It’s difficult to withhold awe from any poet who daunted I A Richards.
And Jeremy Northam is both a fine reader, and someone who has been familiar with Hopkins’ peculiarities from a very early age.
