The Turner Diaries, novel by William Luther Pierce (under the pseudonym Andrew Macdonald), published in 1978. An apocalyptic tale of genocide against racial minorities set in a near-future America, The Turner Diaries has been referred to as “the bible of the racist right,” a “handbook for white victory,” and “a blueprint for revolution.” Pierce was the head of the National Alliance, a neo-Nazi group, and the novel first appeared in serial form in the National Alliance’s publication, Attack!.
The novel is written in the form of the diaries of a one-time electrical engineer, Earl Turner, supposedly unearthed near Revolutionary Headquarters in the one-hundredth year of the New Era. In the foreword, Turner is described as one of the “men and women whose struggle and sacrifice saved our race in its time of greatest peril.” The diaries describe a society that has completely deteriorated because of the powerlessness of its white citizens, as well as Turner’s patriotic fight to take the country back from a government dominated by Jews, African Americans, and other minorities. Turner begins as a rank-and-file member of a group called “the Organization” and is later invited to join a secret elite faction called “the Order,” which wages a war of political terrorism against “the System” (the United States government). These acts of terrorism are designed to instigate a further crackdown on basic freedoms, thus creating an even more repressive environment, so that the Organization will gain sympathy and converts.
Turner’s adventures begin on September 16, 1991, about two years after the notorious gun raids in which the government, through the enforcement of the Cohen Act, confiscates everyone’s guns. Resisters are forced underground, but key members, called “legals,” remain functioning in society and gathering information. To fund its operations, the Organization commits only “socially conscious” crimes—those against Jews or other minorities. Turner’s unit is assigned a larger undertaking when the System begins issuing passports to all citizens. To thwart the System’s plans, the unit blows up FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C. The blast kills approximately 700 people and, because of the damage done to the FBI’s infrastructure, causes a temporary halt in the issuing of passports.
Although he regrets the loss of innocent life, Turner laments that there is no other way to destroy the System. Eventually the Organization takes over much of the West Coast by force. Those who survive are then subjected to the “day of the rope,” in which African Americans as well as whites characterized as having betrayed their race are hanged. Race traitors are those whites who either support minorities through their views and work or—particularly offensive to the Organization—are part of interracial relationships. Despite the looting and the cannibalism of desperate African Americans, the landscape begins to take on a utopian character when surviving whites clean up their homes and property. The farms that have been neglected because of the migrant workers’ expulsion are eventually tended by young white children, eager to do their part for the region’s recovery.
Turner’s last entry records his acceptance of a suicide mission in which he will blow up the Pentagon with a nuclear weapon. He has accepted the mission willingly as punishment for his betrayal of the Order while being tortured by an Israeli police official and his “Negro orderlies.” Turner’s death, as noted in the epilogue, marks “the day of the Martyrs” in the New Era.

Interesting comments. I’m a registered Democrat, but I was quite surprised at some of the mindless comments condemning a book I would be willing to bet a large sum that those making the comments have never read. They just credulously (ignorantly-stupidly) comment on the basis of what someone else said about it.
Americans stopped learning to think independently and critically many, many years ago. They just believe anything people tell them, as long as it is people they agree with.
If a white supremacist told these imbeciles the earth was round, they’d start believing it was flat. I’m referring to people like joma_ga who fulfills all the criteria of stupid credulity, and who just labelled him/herself a “garbage people” by that very accusation.

Free expression has to be tolerated up to the breaking point, but no Western society, or thinking person, regards it as absolute. We don’t condone or allow advertisements for paedophilia, or promotion of death camps for scapegoated minorities. It’s necessary for people to really think about these things, and not disappear up their own arseholes.

Great book, BTW. Even if you do not agree with the author’s political leanings, it’s a great post-apocalyptic story. And it’s narrated by the author himself, who is a good narrator, IMHO. Better than most audiobook narrators.

I’m both liberal, Jewish and not an American and I have actually read excerpts of the book before and I’m pretty excited to listen to the whole thing, I try to keep up with trends in conspiracy theories and Neo-racism.

Ah, Turner Diaries. Fashy, trashy YA lit, the writer has a h*rd-on for explosives and weapons tech but skims over the sex scenes (I get it, it’s not the focus, but there’s a scene where him and his girlfriend see each other for possibly the last time before he is sent on a suicide mission and he simply states that they had sex “in a meadow”). Gonna need to get it up for something /without/ a fuse if you’re so giddy about spreading that white national seed. Seriously, it’s an any-means-to-an-end war, but the end (securing a utopian naturalistic future for the white race) is undercut by the focus on brutality and eliminationism. I have never seen (outside of a sociopathic POV) terror attacks and collateral grief described like this. At the minimum flippantly, at the maximum with evident awe and likely saliva. It’s only tolerable if you want to turn your brain off and imagine you’re in an NPC greyface-populated cr*psack dystopia where ‘Negroes from the welfare registry’ would ever be recruited by the American police force, instead of, you know, looking at the real world or reading something non-fictional. Anyways if you’re reading this there’s a whole real world out there for you, if you’re down the rabbit hole turn around and find people who are willing to have conversations with you and listen to people with your ears, mind, heart and gut. Something can ’sound right’ because it is placating. Ask questions and do no harm.

I obviously knew this book and author were ‘racist’, but I expected something in the same way that Enid Blyton or Roald Dahl are now deemed racist. But Holy Crap this is racist!
As a Brit, I’ve been intensely curious to understand the mentality of those who support and vote for the right wing of American politics, and listening to all 10 hours of this were illuminating to help understand the sense of persecution and self-righteousness that they use to justify their deliberate cruelty and hate.
Having the author read his own text only highlights the relish and excitement he feels when describing the Jewish or black people being ‘machine-gunned on the spot’ etc.
What’s frightening is just how far we are down the timeline of the book - the attack on government buildings (Oklahoma) the extra security and fortification of the Capitol etc.
I’m glad this book is available here as it should honestly serve as the greatest advert for why NOT to be a racist arsehole. If you think whites are a superior and special race, this book takes that thinking to its logical conclusion - and it’s not pretty!

I read this some time ago. It’s garbage. However, I’m glad it’s here.
All should listen to this… it’s quite the snapshot of the fascism that existed when this book was written, and which has become more prevalent today.
Sadly, this book inspired Tim McVey (he had a copy with his favourite passages underlined) - it was with him when he was arrested for the OK bombing.
If it shows nothing else, it shows the low intellect of the author. And, if you think THIS book is poorly written, you should look out for Hunter. A book loosely based on the man W L Pierce wanted to be - the serial killer (and would-be assassin of Larry Flynt) Joseph Paul Franklin.
