I finally got the whole file and will continue to seed indefinitely.
What a superb book: bold, lyrical, every sentence a gem and yet they are so organically interwoven, not a word detracts from the force of the story.
Never saw the movie. I surmise they must be quite different, as the book is heavier on observation than dialogue.
Still, I’ll be shocked if the book disappoints.
Hope I can lay hands on Woodrell’s other books (regretfully, there aren’t many because he moved on from books to film in recent years).
